From the history of the department
The department was created in 1994 on the basis of the department “General
technical disciplines and computer technology” under the name “Electronics and
automation”. The heads of the department were: associate professors, Ph.D.
Uzokbaev M.U. (1994-1996), Rakhimov O.S. (1996-2008, 2010-2017), Khodzhiev A.A.
(2008-2010), Kalandarov H.U. (2017-2022), Juraev D.S. from 2022 to today. Teachers
made a great contribution to the development and equipment of the department
and its laboratories over the years. T.B. Boboev Candidate of Technical Sciences, Saidov
U.O., Atamov T.M., Fayziev S.V., Khoshimov F., Vakhobov O.I., Mamurov A.A. Toshtemirov S.M. and a number of others. Today, the department employs 20 people, including
2 associate professor, 4 candidates of technical sciences, senior teachers, 9
senior teachers, 3 assistants, laboratory and a secretary clerk.
The department has 6 modern laboratories. The
department trains bachelors in 4 specialties: 1-430103 - Electrical supply;
1-530105 – Automated electric drive; 1-530107 – 1530107-Information
technologies and management in technical systems and 1-380202 – Biotechnical
and medical devices and systems.
Main activities of the department
The department's scientific research plays an
important role in addressing issues of transition to green energy and achieving
the country's energy independence. Scientists of the department are conducting
research work to solve the problems of efficient use of energy and reducing its
losses, the use of renewable energy sources in civil and industrial facilities,
and are achieving great success in increasing the reliability of power supply
and the operation of electrical networks.
In particular, the problems of increasing the
efficiency and safe operation of transformers, regulating voltage under
electrical load, developing diagnostic algorithms and testing the performance
of high-power transformers were considered. Proposals have been developed and
implemented in the power grid system of the Sughd region to improve the
efficiency of diagnostics, regulation and repair of transformers, and to
prevent accidents at substations with a voltage of 110 kV.
Changes in the thermophysical properties of
magnetic fluids based on transformer oil have been studied depending on the
effects of temperature, pressure and magnetic field, and proposals have been
prepared for operational testing of the quality of transformer oil. In the
field of wind energy use, electromagnetic gearboxes equipped with thyristor
converters are used, which increase the efficiency of wind turbines by up to
85%. Also, the reliability of 110 kV substations for the climatic conditions of
the republic was studied and recommendations were given for the optimal
selection of power lines and accident prevention. In addition, based on the
results of the study, measures and recommendations were proposed to improve the
uninterrupted operation of electric drives of high-power pumping stations.
